Jaguars on the Island

Today we went to Jaguars on the Island in Victoria BC.  This is billed as the largest Jaguar only gathering in North America.  There seemed to be about 200 cars in the park today and XJ-S’s were the featured model.  Here are some photos of the event.

I like the look of the S3 XKE’s and I am always interested in Jaguar’s first application of the V12.   Here are some gorgeous examples

This was the best looking car at the show in my humble opinion

Here were some good looking later model high performance sedans

And this was by far the coolest car at the show.  This 1964 MK2 body had the chassis, engine and interior from an XJR6 supercharged.

We picked a beautiful weekend for our first trip to Victoria and I recommend staying at the Union Club of BC hotel when here.  (Just pack some collared golf shirts and close toe shoes or like us you won’t be able to have breakfast in their restaurant).  We took advantage of the good weather and took a double decker bus tour of the city to see the sites this afternoon.

Victoria is a long drive from Calgary, but I would like to bring the coupe to the show in the future.
