Although there is limited information and few pictures, #518 looks like an honest, stock coupe in very good shape. It was initially listed on ebay with a BIN of $51k and has now been re-listed with a BIN of $45k.
In 1973, the carburetor V12 was first introduced in the XJ sedan and Car and Driver observed 9 to 11.5 mpg. The first model with fuel injection was the ’75 XJ12C and AutoTest found a 21% improvement in fuel economy (some was due to higher gearing).
I am re-posting this coupe separately as it has been re-listed a few times. The most recent listing was on 7/27 with a starting bid of $15k that had no apparent bidding activity.
#127 is well shot and looks really good in the photos. Classic Showcase doesn’t list asking prices, but this seems to be in as good a shape as #721 that listed in March for $25k.
A week before the large Street Wheelers car show in Lethbridge, there is a smaller show about 30 minutes north in Picture Butte.
I am visiting my brother in Brisbane right now and it got me thinking of the great Australian gathering of XJ coupes in South Australia.
Jaguar (or Lucas) designed their dash switches to be a mechanical engineer’s dream, but I am not sure reliability was part of the design scope.
