This site will describe my ownership of an XJ12C. I will start with the searching and finding of the car in ’98 and then will review work done to the car, activities and future ideas I have for improvement.
I have owned many cars, but none has been as rewarding or frustrating as owning this coupe. Here’s an example….this morning I went for a drive. With the 4 windows down, the pillar less design feels almost as open as my convertible. The engine felt strong and sounded excellent. After a hard run on the freeway, it started to stumble a bit. I was expecting this to happen and am starting a project designed to address the issue. This has never been a drive and forget it car.
I came into ownership of the car with high interest and enthusiasm, average mechanical abilities and experience and have learned a whole lot in the last 20 years or so of ownership.
I hope you find this interesting, and if you own any XJ variant, maybe there will be some useful information here for you as well.
