Throttle Stand and Linkage Adjustment

I removed the throttle stand assembly and decided to have it bead blasted at the same time as the intake manifolds.

While moving the throttle cable around during the fuel rail fitting, tension on the connector to the transmission kickdown switch caused it to break.  I have a bag of these limit switches left over from a repair I made to the climate control system years ago, so I simply replaced and re-adjusted the switch.

A few years ago, I replaced the disintegrated throttle rod bushings with a couple of hard rubber grommets.  There is very little play in these grommets, but I am sure they get soft when the engine bay is hot and there is more play then.  A recommendation from Jaguarforums was to replace the bushings with door hinge bushings.

Because I had raised the throttle switch stand and made a lot of other changes, I need to re-adjust all of the linkages.  The best instructions I have found for doing this is in Jaguar’s V12 Focus document.  I followed the steps on pages 27 – 29 to get everything adjusted correctly.

Almost done…….now to install the new air intakes and associated hoses.
