XJ12C For Sale – 2G50648

It’s been a while since I have seen a running coupe for sale (although with the limited description, I am assuming its running). This one bidding here on EBay, has a great looking paint job.

Nice straight body with newer paint and it looks like the original top. Chrome, wheels and badges all look good and correct
Interior looks complete and original with a few areas needing attention. It could be just the photos, but the seat leather may need a clean or re-dye if the leather and stitching are in good shape. The wood dash is starting to show crazing.
Headlining will need to be replaced. I have removed all the side pieces and recovered in the past and its not a difficult job, but I left the main board to an upholstery shop because it would be easy to see any mistakes in that. Material that matches stock is still readily available.
From the photo, the engine bay looks complete. The top to the brake fluid reservoir is broken and will need to be replaced. Mine has broken and been replaced 3 times. Its pretty common. Of potential concern is that the cap on the adjusting screw for the Manifold Pressure Sensor has been removed. If the car runs great and the spark plugs don’t look too lean or rich, I wouldn’t worry about it. This engine has more vacuum hoses than mine, so it may be a CA emissions car. No issue with that, just a few more hoses to stay on top of. Ignition module has been relocated to the rail over the radiator. This was Jaguar’s effort to improve the life of these modules that were originally mounted in the V of the engine. Based on things like the broken brake fluid cap, there may have been other delayed maintenance so it would make sense to replace all engine bay fuel hoses and check condition of the fuel injector harness pretty soon after getting the car.

Would have been nice to see some under carriage pictures. Based on the limited info and pictures provided this might be a really nice driver coupe with some manageable interior repairs.
