Last weekend, we met up with some of the Denver Jaguar club members and went to the Rocky Mtn. Airport Car and Air Show. This is a great group and we are looking forward to future events with the club. I learned that there was an XJ12C for sale in the area, and was very excited for the opportunity to see it after the show.
OK…..this car has spent a lot of time outside and has lots of needs, but should be able to find a home for it’s $1,850 asking price.
My opinion is that our cars are not yet worth enough to restore this to an original car, but it may be a good, pretty solid and mostly complete starting point for a resto-mod or a good parts car to support your restoration.
Here’s the good: It’s a ’75 so should be able to be registered as a classic car in most states. The chrome looked pretty good and the body (couldn’t see much of the right side or underside) looks mainly solid. The LH inner and outer rocker panels felt solid and are in better shape than mine were when I purchased my coupe.
Here is the description from the seller:
This two-door XJ12C, based on the Series 2 version of the XJ sedan, has the 5.3 liter V12 engine and Borg Warner Model 12 automatic 3 speed transmission.
This is one of about 700 U.S. left-hand-drive XJ12Cs coupes built. It was purchased as a running car but will need a ground up restoration. It was driven to its current location in Denver from Ft. Collins, CO. The engine is currently not running due to rodent damage to the wiring. The transmission is a Model 12 which was in good operating order when parked. Available for purchase with this XJ12C are some new sill panels and some electric window bits originally purchased for an XJ6C and are identical with the 12C. Most all systems were working when the restoration sidetracked. It does have a clear title.
$1,850 Negotiable
If you are interested, send me a note in the contact area at the bottom of the page and I will send your info on to the seller. I really hope this finds a good home, and would love to see this stay an original V12 car.
